Japanese for Beginners
This was a great course. I appreciated the repetitions of phrase or words and the clear pronunciations. You can really get the hang of saying what can be complicated phrases.
Exactly What I Needed:
I’ve only known few Japanese phrases for the past 5 years. For example I knew excuse me, I’m sorry, hello etc. I have always wanted to learn an extra language and I wanted a challenge. It took me about 3 months to complete this course, but it can definitely be completed sooner if not procrastinating. I have finally memorized hiragana, and I can’t wait to learn katakana and (hopefully) some kanji. I can now speak simple sentences for everyday life. I do wish, however, we learned better conversational phrases like how to make a friend and create small talk.
If you do want to master the complete Japanese Language I recommend this to practice studying and go over basics. This course cannot fully teach you Japanese and I hope that after completing this course, more people will go off and keep learning.
The hardest part (for me) to learn was the numbers. I thought it was very complicated and out of place, especially when learning the days of the month first.
I still keep studying numbers and using a separate website, I created study cards and study about 10 times a week for at least 30 minutes based off of every unit.
Anyone who begs to learn Japanese and doesn’t know where to start, should start here for a great experience and will be able to create a great schedule and keep feeling motivated.
