At the age of 25, a profound inner transformation changed the course of his life. The next few years were devoted to understanding and integrating that transformation, which marked the beginning of an intense inward journey. Peter is the author of four best-seller online courses. His insights and practical teachings have helped thousands of people throughout the world to gain more self-knowledge. At the core of his teachings lies psychological self-study and the expansion of consciousness: the ability to go beyond our perceived self or ego. This can be achieved in three major ways: 1. intellectually, in the form of introspection, 2. experientially, in the form of meditation and 3. seeking meaningful connections. Combining these practices leads to a state of wisdom, power and compassion. This is a prerequisite not only for personal happiness but also for resilience in an ever-changing world and ending adversity on our planet. Peter`s main spiritual practice is lucid dreaming and dream yoga. These are truly hands-on phenomena because through them everyone can experience mind-expanding states of consciousness without the use of drugs or religious faith. My work and mission I consider myself a lucky person because my passion is the same as my work. Reading and writing, creating videos, teaching, meditation and lucid dreaming. This freedom has been made possible by deliberate action and a state of mind learned from psychology and spirituality, both in the west and in India. I still have my life challenges like anxiety, adhd, having to deal with the loss of loved ones and other things; but I have gained powerful tools to manage my life better. Free action mostly depends on our self-knowledge, state of mind and our effort. Mindfulness, introspection, therapy and making an effort to connect and be compassionate gradually frees us from our not-yet-conscious automatic defence mechanisms, limiting subconscious patterns and expectations of the environment, which prevent us from healing, recognising our opportunities and moving forward in our life. It essentially means to transcend our `karma`. Lucid dreaming helps us to remember that we are the sculptor creating our lives as our masterpiece. My inspiration to research consciousness stems from my youth. Something went wrong in secondary school. I craved for discovering the world and I was considered bright, yet school was unbearably boring; my mind frequently turned off and I often simply could not study. My family`s expectation of me was to be a great student, but no matter how I tried, I could not fulfill that expectation. I was never allowed to share my opinions or emotions regarding this matter. I was instead shamed, which has lead to anxity, the inability to self-express and to the constant feeling of a void and feeling disconnected from life. When things finally became too harsh at home, I left. I moved abroad to look for a new way of life. Ironically, later I became a teacher of mathematics. However, my dissatisfaction reemerged: I encountered similar issues in many of my students, which I used to have! They had no direction, no motivation. They felt not listened to. I came to believe that a great deal of our unhappiness and issues are caused by the limitations inherent in our current education systems. By now, it has become clear to me that as parents and educators, we should teach more about how can we can explore our interests, talents and how to turn them into a living. We should teach about how to make up for our shortcomings, skills in entrepreneurship, and social and psychological skills. Because life is about meaningful connections and pursuits, and finding purpose. This is what I wish to contribute to with my work.
