Creating Your Own:

You will create five artworks to refine your shading technique and allow you to completely focus on your drawing. China will show you how to improve your drawing skills while having fun at the same time. You are guaranteed to discover a newfound love for shading after completing this class.

What You’ll Do:

1. Fill In The Gaps: Try to match the gray in the white boxes to make them blend with the printout. You’ll need to print this page out for shading.
2. Symmetry: Try to complete the drawing by making the empty side match the right side. Follow the steps to build up the nose, from geometric shapes to detailed shading.
3. Value Scale: Shade 10 squares using just one pencil, and then try using different ones! Great for practicing even tones and improving your perception.
4. Grid Method: Ideal for drawing something from scratch and keeping it in proportion. This helps you create a completed project to be proud of.
5. Metal: Drawing metallic objects is more satisfying than it seems. China provides a pre-made grid, but feel free to create your own if you prefer.
