I thought the course gave a great overview of what it takes to start a business. Not just a Bookkeeping Business, but really any type of business. It touched on the Tech side and the skills needed. If you were going to be a Bookkeeper and this was all you had I do not feel the knowledge in the class was enough to be your best. It did give many ideas of where to go for additional help. Excellent Guide for Those Thinking About Being a Business Owner
Lisa does a great job of presenting nuggets of wisdom in the many different areas of starting and owning a bookkeeping/accounting practice. I like that she also includes exercises in some of the chapters so that you get a “hands-on experience (instead of simply listening to a series of lectures). Her chapters are short, to the point and void of a lot of fluff. I also appreciated the downloadable documents that come with the course. If you are on the fence about going solo this is an excellent course to help you decide.
